High-Intensity Practice ("HIP") Thinking Teacher
(New York, New York) Teach in the HIP Thinking Program for upper school division students (grades 6-11) that aims to strengthen students' conceptual skills and develop working memory, cognitive flexibility, and inhibitory control. Generate writing prompts and develop activities related to mathematical and computation problem solving to develop students' executive functions. Provide students with timely and targeted feedback related to math, writing and coding and how they can maximize their application of the knowledge and strategies they learn in other classes to transfer those skills to their learning. Coordinate with math curriculum specialists to write class tests and diagnostic tests to monitor students' progress and analyze data. Coordinate high intensity mathematics curriculum and provide input on approaches that are consistently upgraded to reflect implementation of new learning. Manage the online learning environment as an essential part of course delivery and advise students on related academic matters. Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Education, Mathematics, Science, Supervisor/Teacher of Science Education, or a closely related technical field, plus one academic year of experience teaching mathematics and science instruction in an immersion setting required.
