A World-Class Education Online
While the pandemic continues to bring uncertainty to families regarding in-person schooling, Avenues São Paulo’s Online Program offers the highest quality distance learning. Our program takes advantage of best-in-class technology to create an international community of scholars. Students interact daily with peers located in Brazil and around the world, including France, Kenya, Korea, Mexico, Uruguay, Spain, South Africa, and the United States.
An Avenues education nurtures a global mindset where students learn to exercise empathy and collaborate across languages and cultures. Students learn to use mental agility when facing ambiguity and to apply creativity when working with abstractions. They develop metacognitive awareness that will empower them to absorb information and acquire new skills long after graduation.
Innovative Learning Platform
Avenues’ online learning platform integrates all facets of the student experience into one dashboard where students and parents easily access courses, calendars, Zoom links, assignments, and instructional resources. Students submit work, receive feedback from teachers, and view grades and comments all in one place.
A community message board, known as The Quad, is also accessed from the dashboard. This is where students post messages for the entire community, celebrate their classmates, and view examples of student work from all grades levels. Original artwork throughout the platform replicates bulletin boards and cheerful school hallways to engage students of all ages.
Brazilian Studies
The Avenues Brazilian Studies Program enables students to build strong Portuguese language skills and cultivate a deep appreciation for Brazilian history and culture, while also connecting them to universal global themes. Our innovative approach meets all BNCC's requirements and provides students the opportunity to graduate fully prepared for university experiences both in Brazil and abroad.
Great Works
Core Experience
In Great Works, the core curriculum in grades 4 – 12, students collaborate on interdisciplinary projects in humanities, social sciences, and STEAM fields to make purposeful connections to past, present, and future global issues. A Great Books curriculum compliments each unit of study. Students read and discuss carefully selected texts which deepen their understanding of what they learn in class and bring to life the defining ideas of humanity. The result is a rare combination of academic depth and interdisciplinary breadth which guides students to make sophisticated connections between their coursework and the world around them.
São Paulo Campus
Face to Face Programs
Brazilian students will be able to take advantage of unique face to face offerings on the São Paulo campus. Major community events, like our annual Maker Faire, Festa Junina, and Sampa Seminar are opportunities to integrate with the São Paulo students, families, and faculty. Students will also be invited to participate in signature Avenues learning experiences both in São Paulo and abroad including our Minimester and Fifth Term.
Avenues Global Ecosystem
All Avenues students have access to the network of Avenues campuses and learning experiences. Each year, Global Journeys and Mastery Academies gather students from around the world to participate in location-based learning opportunities. Past offerings include: studying climate change in New Zealand, practicing innovation and design in Shenzhen, learning about sustainable and ethical farming in Costa Rica, and intensive language learning in Chengdu.
